On that rhythm, the honest expectation for 2027 is a February 2027 notification and a May 2027 examination — an expectation, stated as one. The practical point for a student now in Intermediate second year is that the application window, when it comes, will be long (roughly six weeks without a late fee) but the late-fee ladder is deliberately punitive: applying after the final ₹10,000 deadline is not possible at all.

Who can apply

Under the 2026 rules:

  • Nationality and local status: Indian nationals and PIO/OCI cardholders who belong to the state of Telangana or Andhra Pradesh and satisfy the local/non-local status rules. This is a state examination — that belonging requirement is the first eligibility filter, before academics.
  • Qualification: passed or appearing in the final year of Intermediate (10+2). Engineering-stream candidates need Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry; Agriculture & Pharmacy candidates need Biology (Botany/Zoology), Physics and Chemistry. Final-year diploma holders in Engineering from the State Board of Technical Education and Training are also eligible for the engineering stream.
  • Minimum marks: 45% in the specified subjects taken together in 10+2 (40% for reserved-category candidates).
  • Age: engineering candidates must have completed 16 years by 31 December of the admission year, with no upper age limit; for Agriculture, Pharmacy and allied courses the 2026 pattern required candidates to be 17 years and, for most such courses, not above 22 years (25 for SC/ST) on that date. Per-course age rules differ, so read the 2027 notification's eligibility table for your exact course rather than relying on a summary.

The paper: 160 questions, no negative marking

The pattern was unchanged in 2026 and is the least likely thing to change in 2027:

  • Engineering: 160 MCQs in 3 hours — Mathematics 80, Physics 40, Chemistry 40.
  • Agriculture & Pharmacy: 160 MCQs in 3 hours — Botany 40, Zoology 40, Physics 40, Chemistry 40.
  • +1 mark per correct answer, no negative marking. Every question should be attempted; there is no penalty for a wrong guess.
  • The test runs in two sessions a day (9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon and 3:00–6:00 p.m.), on screen in English with Telugu (and an Urdu option at Hyderabad). Because candidates sit different sessions, scores are normalised across sessions before ranks are prepared.
  • Qualifying marks: 25% of the maximum (40 out of 160) after normalisation is required to be assigned a rank; no minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for SC/ST candidates.
  • Ranks are prepared by giving 75% weightage to the normalised TG EAPCET marks and 25% weightage to the marks in the relevant Intermediate group subjects (Mathematics or Biology, Physics and Chemistry). This is why your Intermediate group marks are not a formality — a quarter of your rank is already decided in the board examination hall.

The syllabus is the Intermediate (Class 11 and 12) curriculum of the state board — there is no separate TG EAPCET syllabus document to hunt for beyond the notification's syllabus annexures.

The application fee (2026)

The fee is paid first — TG EAPCET's application flow starts with fee payment, and the payment reference ID unlocks the form. In 2026 it was:

The application fee (2026)
One streamBoth streams
General / other candidates₹900₹1,800
SC / ST / PH₹500₹1,000

Payment is online or through TS Online/AP Online centres. After payment, the steps are: fill the application form carefully (your Intermediate hall-ticket details anchor it), upload a recent photograph and signature in the specified formats, submit, and download the filled-in application form. Keep both the payment reference ID and the registration number — the hall ticket, the correction window and later the rank card all key off them.

Documents and details to keep ready

Intermediate and Class 10 hall-ticket numbers and mark memos; Aadhaar; caste certificate and income certificate if you will claim a category or fee-reimbursement benefit at counselling; local-status/residence proof; a recent photograph and signature scan; and a working mobile number and email. Counselling later runs on certificates — a mismatch between the application form, the Intermediate memo and the caste certificate is the commonest avoidable problem students carry into July.

What to do now

Nothing about 2027 can be applied for yet, so the productive work is academic: finish the Intermediate syllabus with the examination's arithmetic in mind — Mathematics (or Biology) is half your paper — and sit timed, full-length CBT-style practice rather than chapter tests in the final term. When TGCHE publishes the notification, expected in February 2027, apply inside the no-late-fee window even if you feel underprepared; the form is cheap in February and expensive by late April, and there is no version of events in which a May examination rewards a student who never filed.
