GUJCET 2027: not announced yet — and the calendar that predicts it

As of 20 October 2026, GSEB has published no GUJCET 2027 notification, application form or exam date on gseb.org. The honest status is "awaited". What can be said with confidence is the shape of the cycle, because GUJCET runs on a remarkably stable timetable. For the 2026 exam, GSEB issued the notification on 15 December 2025, opened online registration on 16 December 2025 at gujcet.gseb.org, closed the regular window on 6 January 2026 after an extension, and kept a late window open until 16 January 2026 with a ₹1,000 late fee on top of the application fee. Admit cards followed in March, and the examination was held on 29 March 2026. If GSEB repeats that rhythm — and students should plan as if it will, while treating the dates as unconfirmed until the notice is out — the GUJCET 2027 form should open in mid-December 2026, with the exam in the last week of March 2027. Do not book travel, coaching crash courses or anything else against those expected dates; do keep your documents ready from early December.

Who can apply

GUJCET is a domicile-linked exam. The eligibility frame from the 2026 rules:

  • You must be an Indian citizen with Gujarat domicile.
  • You must have passed, or be appearing in, the Class 12 (10+2) science stream examination from a recognised board.
  • For engineering, Physics and Mathematics are compulsory, with Chemistry (or another subject from the board's approved list) as the third subject — this is Group A.
  • For pharmacy, you need Physics and Chemistry with Mathematics or Biology — Group B candidates take Biology, and Group AB candidates, who attempt both Mathematics and Biology, stay eligible for both streams.
  • Minimum qualifying marks in the Class 12 science subjects: 45% for general category candidates and 40% for reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC and PwD, as per state rules).
  • There is no limit on the number of attempts, and Class 12 students appearing in the admission year can apply.

A point students miss: GUJCET alone does not give you a seat. The ACPC merit list that drives counselling is built from 60% weightage to your Class 12 board percentile and 40% to your GUJCET score for engineering admissions. A weak board result cannot be fully rescued by a strong GUJCET, and vice versa.

The paper, the fee and the marking

Pattern below is the confirmed 2026 cycle — the latest confirmed. GSEB has not published a GUJCET 2027 pattern.

GUJCET is an offline, pen-and-paper test on OMR sheets, held in English, Hindi and Gujarati. It carries 120 questions for 120 marks over three hours, in two sittings: a combined Physics and Chemistry paper of 80 questions, and a Mathematics or Biology paper of 40 questions. Each correct answer earns one mark, and each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks — a small negative mark, but over a full paper, careless guessing adds up. The syllabus is the GSEB Class 11 and 12 science curriculum. The application fee in 2026 was ₹350 for every candidate, payable online through SBIePay (card, net banking, UPI) or offline at an SBI branch with a challan generated from the portal; applying in the late window took the total to ₹1,350 with the ₹1,000 penalty.

How to apply, step by step

  • When registration opens, go to gujcet.gseb.org and choose new candidate registration. Enter your name exactly as it appears in your board records, a mobile number and an email ID, and set your password.
  • Verify the registration with the OTP sent to your mobile.
  • Log in and pay the ₹350 application fee first — the portal unlocks the full form after payment.
  • Fill in personal, academic and communication details, choose your group (A, B or AB) and your exam centre carefully; the centre and group cannot be changed casually later.
  • Upload a recent photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format within the specified size limit (5–50 KB in the 2026 form).
  • Review everything, submit, and download the confirmation/application printout. Keep it — ACPC counselling asks for GUJCET details and documents later.

Keep these documents ready before the window opens: Class 10 and 12 marksheets (or the Class 12 hall ticket if you are appearing), domicile certificate, caste or EWS certificate if you claim a reserved category, PwD certificate if applicable, and a photo ID.

Common mistakes

Filling the name differently from the board marksheet is the most frequent one, and it creates document-verification trouble months later. The second is choosing the wrong group — a pharmacy-only student who registers for Group A has wasted the attempt. The third is waiting for the late window: the ₹1,000 late fee is avoidable, and the regular window in the last cycle ran barely three weeks. Finally, remember that GUJCET registration and ACPC counselling registration are two separate processes; qualifying in GUJCET does not automatically enter you into counselling. Watch gseb.org for the 2027 notice from December, and the ACPC admission announcements when results season begins.

The current GSEB page was checked on 16 September 2026 and did not show a GUJCET 2027 notification. 2027 application and exam dates remain awaited.

Frequently asked questions

Has GUJCET 2027 been announced yet?

No. As of 20 October 2026, GSEB had published no GUJCET 2027 notification, application form or exam date on gseb.org; the mid-December opening expected in this article is drawn from the 2026 cycle, not from a 2027 announcement.

Who can apply for GUJCET?

You must be an Indian citizen with Gujarat domicile who has passed, or is appearing in, the Class 12 science stream, with at least 45% in the qualifying subjects for the general category and 40% for reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC and PwD, as per state rules).

What were the GUJCET pattern and fee in 2026?

The offline OMR test carried 120 questions for 120 marks over three hours, with 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer. The application fee was ₹350 for every candidate, and applying in the late window took the total to ₹1,350 with the ₹1,000 penalty.

How is the engineering merit list built from GUJCET?

The ACPC merit list is built from 60% weightage to your Class 12 board percentile and 40% to your GUJCET score for engineering admissions, so GUJCET alone does not give you a seat.

Which documents should I keep ready before registration opens?

Class 10 and 12 marksheets (or the Class 12 hall ticket if you are appearing), a domicile certificate, a caste or EWS certificate if you claim a reserved category, a PwD certificate if applicable, and a photo ID.
