Which courses OJEE actually covers

The OJEE examination is held for admission to B.Pharm, B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, Post Diploma Nursing and M.Sc Nursing, MCA and M.Sc (Computer Science), MBA and the five-year Integrated MBA, M.Tech (including part-time), M.Arch, M.Plan and M.Pharm, the B.CAT programme in cinematic arts, and lateral entry into the second year of B.Tech and B.Pharm for diploma and B.Sc holders. First-year B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan, MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS admissions in Odisha are filled through JEE Main 2026 / NEET UG counselling, not through the OJEE paper — the Committee's own brochure states this plainly, and every year students lose time preparing for the wrong test because nobody told them.

Status of OJEE 2027

As of 20 October 2026, the OJEE Committee has not published a 2027 notification, information brochure or application schedule on ojee.nic.in. The 2026 cycle is the latest completed reference: applications for it opened in early 2026 and the examination was held in computer-based mode in the first half of the year, followed by rank publication and centralised counselling. Following the Committee's usual rhythm, the OJEE 2027 brochure and application window are expected in the early months of 2027 — but that is an expectation from past cycles, not an announcement, and the only dates that will count are the ones in the 2027 brochure when it appears.

Who is eligible — the 2026 rules, course by course

Eligibility is course-specific, and the brochure is the authority. The framework from the 2026 cycle:

  • B.Pharm: Class 12 with Physics and Chemistry, plus Mathematics or Biology.
  • Lateral Entry B.Tech: a three-year engineering diploma with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • MCA: a bachelor's degree with Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • MBA and Integrated MBA: a bachelor's degree of at least three years in any stream with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) for the MBA; Class 12 in any stream with 45% (40% for SC/ST) for the Integrated MBA.
  • M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan, M.Pharm: a bachelor's degree in the relevant field with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • Nursing programmes: as per the nursing course rules in the brochure, including a minimum age of 17 years as on 31 December of the admission year where the brochure specifies it.

Candidates must be Indian citizens. Odisha candidates get the benefit of the state's reservation rules; there is no general upper age limit for most OJEE courses.

Pattern and fee, as run in 2026

OJEE is a computer-based test of multiple-choice questions, in English, with four marks for a correct answer and one mark deducted for a wrong one — the negative marking makes blind guessing expensive, unlike some other state tests. Duration depends on the course: three hours for B.Pharm, two hours for lateral-entry B.Tech/B.Sc, MCA, MBA, M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Sc and B.CAT papers, and one hour for M.Pharm, Integrated MBA and lateral-entry B.Pharm. The application fee was ₹1,000 for a single course, with ₹500 added for each additional course — so a candidate applying for a combination such as MBA plus MCA paid ₹1,500. The fee is paid online and is not refunded.

How applying works, step by step

  • When the window opens, go to ojee.nic.in and open the OJEE 2027 registration link. Register with your name, mobile number and email — the application number generated here is your login for everything that follows.
  • Fill the application form carefully: personal details, the course or combination of courses you are applying for, and your academic record. The course combination you choose fixes the fee and the papers you will sit, so decide before you pay.
  • Upload your photograph, signature and the documents the form asks for, in the sizes specified.
  • Pay the fee online and submit. Download the confirmation page and keep it — you will need it at counselling.
  • Download the admit card when released, sit the CBT at your allotted centre, and check your rank card after results. Admission then runs through OJEE's counselling: choice filling, seat allotment rounds, document verification and reporting to the allotted college.

Mistakes that cost Odisha students every year

The commonest is preparing for OJEE to get a B.Tech seat — that seat comes from JEE Main. The second is applying for the wrong course combination and discovering at the centre that the paper in front of you is not the one you prepared for. The third is ignoring the correction window: OJEE opens a short window to fix form errors, and details like category and date of birth are verified against originals at counselling, where a mismatch can cancel the allotment. Until the 2027 brochure is out, the sensible preparation is subject preparation for your target course and a weekly look at the notice section of ojee.nic.in — that page, and nothing else, will announce your cycle.
