Two boards, two timetables — don't mix them up
Telangana's Class 10 and Intermediate exams are run by two completely separate bodies, and half the confusion every year comes from students following the wrong one's announcements.
The SSC (Class 10) exams are conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations, known as the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana — its portal is bse.telangana.gov.in. The Intermediate (Class 11 and 12, called 1st year and 2nd year) exams are conducted by the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) — its portal is tgbie.cgg.gov.in, which is live and carries IPE/IPASE marks-memo services between exam cycles.
Neither board has published a 2027 timetable yet. That is the factual status in October 2026. On the 2026 pattern, the SSC timetable was announced on 9 December 2025, so a December announcement is the reasonable expectation for the SSC 2027 schedule, with the Inter timetable following a similar late-year release. Those are expectations based on one cycle, not promises.
SSC, March–April 2026
The SSC Public Examinations 2026 ran from 14 March to 16 April 2026, all papers in a single morning session, mostly 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM:
- 14 March — First Language (Group A) / Composite Course papers
- 18 March — Second Language
- 23 March — Third Language (English)
- 28 March — Mathematics
- 2 April — Science Part-I (Physical Science), a shorter paper ending 11:00 AM
- 7 April — Science Part-II (Biological Science), ending 11:00 AM
- 13 April — Social Studies
- 15 April — OSSC Main Language Paper-I (Sanskrit & Arabic) / SSC Vocational Course (Theory)
- 16 April — OSSC Main Language Paper-II
The board stated the exams would run strictly as scheduled even if a public holiday was declared on an exam date — worth remembering, because students do skip revision assuming a holiday postponement that never comes.
Intermediate (IPE), February–March 2026
The Intermediate Public Examinations ran earlier than SSC — a fact that catches students who assume both boards start together:
- 1st year theory: 25 February to 17 March 2026, opening with 2nd Language Paper-I
- 2nd year theory: 26 February to 18 March 2026, opening with 2nd Language Paper-II
- All theory papers: 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, single morning session
- Practicals: 2–21 February 2026, two sessions a day (9 AM–12 PM and 2–5 PM), including Sundays
- English practicals: 21 January 2026 (1st year) and 22 January 2026 (2nd year)
TGBIE also made an explicit provision in 2026 for students whose Intermediate practicals clashed with the JEE Main schedule — alternative arrangements rather than forcing a choice. If you're a JEE aspirant in the 2027 cycle, watch for the same clause in the new timetable notice and raise any clash with your college immediately; it only works if the board knows in time.
Who sits these exams, and through whom
Both boards examine students registered through their schools and junior colleges — there is no individual online registration for regular candidates. Your institution submits your details and examination fee to the board. Private candidates and candidates re-appearing for failed subjects apply under the board's separate (advanced supplementary / private candidate) rules announced with each cycle. Inter students need to be careful about subject combinations: the IPE timetable schedules combined subject groups on the same day (for example, Mathematics IA with Botany I and Political Science I), so your personal calendar depends on your stream — MPC, BiPC, MEC, CEC or HEC — not on a generic list.
How to get the official 2027 timetable when it drops
- For SSC: open bse.telangana.gov.in, find the "SSC Public Examinations 2027 — Time Table" PDF, and download it. Check the paper codes against your subjects, especially if you are an OSSC or vocational candidate — your papers sit on different dates from the regular stream at the end of the schedule.
- For Inter: open tgbie.cgg.gov.in, find the IPE March 2027 timetable PDF, and extract only your year's papers (1st and 2nd year run on alternating days — reading the wrong year's column is a classic and entirely avoidable error).
- Cross-check the practical dates with your college office. Practical batches are assigned by the college within the board's window; the board PDF alone won't tell you your batch day.
- Build your revision plan from the actual gaps. The SSC schedule deliberately spaces Mathematics and Science papers several days apart; the Inter schedule compresses language papers early. Both reward starting with the earliest papers and back-planning.
Hall tickets and results
Hall tickets for both boards are distributed through schools/colleges shortly before the exams (in the 2026 SSC cycle, downloads were expected from early March, ahead of the 14 March start, with schools also issuing them physically). If you haven't received yours a few days before your first paper, go to your institution first — not to a cyber café offering "duplicate hall ticket" services.
Results for both boards are published online with the candidate's hall-ticket number, followed by marks memos through the official portals (tgbie.cgg.gov.in explicitly carries the IPE/IPASE memo service) and, for those who fall short, advanced supplementary examinations that let you clear failed papers in the same academic year. Recounting and re-verification windows open after results — use the official portal for these, and keep your memo safe either way.
Mistakes to avoid
- Following the wrong board. SSC dates and Inter dates are different documents from different offices; an "Inter exam starts 25 February" headline tells an SSC student nothing.
- Assuming the 2027 dates will mirror 2026 exactly. The pattern (SSC in March–April, Inter starting late February) is stable; the subject order changes.
- Ignoring the practical window. Inter practicals end before theory begins — a student still preparing theory-style in early February while practicals are underway has misread the calendar.
- Believing a holiday cancels a paper. The SSC board said explicitly in 2026 that scheduled papers go ahead regardless.
Until the boards publish, the productive move for 2027 students is unglamorous: finish the syllabus before the practical season, keep your institution's exam-fee and registration deadlines (which come weeks before any timetable), and check bse.telangana.gov.in and tgbie.cgg.gov.in yourself in December — that is when the real dates will appear, and this page should then be updated with them.
