Who is eligible
- You must be a permanent resident of Telangana.
- You must belong to the SC, ST, BC, EBC, Minority or Disabled Welfare category.
- You must be studying a post-matric course — Intermediate, ITI, polytechnic, degree, PG or a professional course — in a recognised institution. For professional courses, admission should be through the convener quota in a course and college whose admissions are regulated by the state government.
- Attendance matters here more than in most states: a minimum of 75% attendance at the end of each quarter is a standing condition of the scholarship.
- Your caste and income certificates must be the digital certificates issued through MeeSeva. For 2026–27 applications, the income certificate must be dated after 1 April 2026 — an older certificate will be rejected even if the income figure is within limits.
- Your bank account must be Aadhaar-linked so the payment can reach you.
Income limits by category
- SC / ST: up to ₹2,00,000 per year
- BC / Minority (urban): up to ₹2,00,000 per year
- BC / Minority (rural): up to ₹1,50,000 per year
- EBC: up to ₹1,00,000 per year
- Disabled Welfare: up to ₹1,00,000 per year
Note the urban–rural split for BC and Minority students — it is the detail families most often get wrong when judging their own eligibility.
What the scholarship covers
The post-matric scholarship has two parts. The RTF reimburses the tuition fee for your course, at the fee fixed for that course and college — full fee for government institutions and up to the prescribed government limit for private colleges; for self-financed courses the reimbursement is capped (₹20,000 or the actual fee, whichever is less, in the case reported for BC post-matric). The MTF is a maintenance allowance paid for the academic year, varying by course group and by whether you are a hosteller or a day scholar. Courses are organised into four groups: Group I (professional degree and PG courses such as medicine, engineering, technology, management, agriculture, veterinary, business and computer applications), Group II (other professional and technical graduate/PG courses, M.Phil and PhD), Group III (general degree courses) and Group IV (Intermediate, ITI/ITC and vocational courses). Aircraft maintenance, private pilot licence, pre-examination training and correspondence or one-year certificate courses are not covered.
Dates for 2026–27
As of this check (20 October 2026), the portal had not put a confirmed 2026–27 post-matric closing date on its public pages, so this page will not invent one. The working pattern of ePASS is that fresh applications open after college admissions settle — typically in the August–September period — and run into the autumn, with renewals on a similar track. Pre-matric (Classes 9–10) registrations for 2026–27 have been reported with a last date of 30 October 2026. If you are a post-matric student, treat the portal's own "Time Line" page as the only reliable source for your deadline and check it weekly until your application is submitted.
How to apply, step by step
- Go to telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in and open Post Matric Scholarship Services, then choose Fresh or Renewal registration for your category.
- Enter your SSC (Class 10) details carefully — the portal pulls your particulars from the SSC board, Intermediate board and MeeSeva records, and biometric Aadhaar authentication is part of the process. If asked, complete biometric authentication at your nearest MeeSeva centre with your application ID.
- Fill in the course, college, income and bank details, and upload the MeeSeva-issued caste and income certificates, marks memos, bona fide certificate and bank documents.
- Submit and note your application ID and password — you will need them for status checks and next year's renewal.
- Your college verifies and forwards the application; keep in touch with your college's scholarship section until it shows as forwarded.
- Track the application under "Know Your Application Status" on the portal.
Documents you will need
- MeeSeva caste certificate and income certificate (income certificate dated after 1 April 2026)
- SSC marks memo and Intermediate/last examination marks memo
- Bona fide / study certificate from the college
- Aadhaar card
- Bank passbook (Aadhaar-linked account)
- Allotment order for convener-quota professional admissions
- Passport-size photograph
Common mistakes
The rejected applications each year cluster around the same few problems: an income certificate dated before 1 April of the application year; a caste certificate that is not the MeeSeva digital certificate; attendance dipping below 75% in a quarter; and a bank account that is not Aadhaar-linked when the payment file is generated. Fix those four and most of the risk in a Telangana ePASS application is gone.
