AP EAPCET 2027: Andhra Pradesh's engineering, agriculture and pharmacy gateway
AP EAPCET — the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test, still widely called AP EAMCET by students and colleges — is the state-level entrance test for undergraduate professional courses in Andhra Pradesh. It is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Kakinada on behalf of APSCHE, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, a statutory body of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. One test covers a wide spread: B.Tech programmes including Dairy Technology, Agricultural Engineering and Food Science & Technology; B.Sc. Agriculture and Horticulture; B.V.Sc & A.H.; B.F.Sc.; B.Pharmacy and Pharm.D.
The 2027 notification has not been issued. The completed 2026 cycle sets the planning calendar: notification on 3 February 2026, online applications from 4 February to 7 March 2026 without late fee, then a graded late-fee ladder (Rs 1,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 4,000 and Rs 10,000 stages) running to 26 March 2026, hall tickets from 28 April 2026, and the exam itself from 12 to 15 and 18 May 2026 for the Engineering stream and 19 to 20 May 2026 for Agriculture and Pharmacy. Expect the 2027 notice around February 2027 on cets.apsche.ap.gov.in, but confirm every date there — AP's schedule has shifted within a cycle before, including a correction window that moved (initially notified for late March, later run 4–6 April 2026).
Who is eligible
You must be an Indian national, or a PIO/OCI card holder, and you must satisfy Andhra Pradesh's local/non-local status rules as defined in the state's admission regulations — this classification decides which seat pool you compete in. Educationally, you need to have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (Intermediate) or equivalent: for Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; for Agriculture and Pharmacy, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (with Mathematics accepted in specific combinations per the notification). The minimum is 45% marks in the specified subjects taken together, relaxed to 40% for reserved categories (BC/SC/ST). Engineering and B.Pharmacy candidates must have completed 16 years of age as on 31 December of the admission year, with no upper age limit; for agriculture and certain allied courses the band is 17 to 22 years as on 31 December (25 years for SC/ST candidates). Diploma holders in engineering can also appear, subject to the notification's conditions.
Exam pattern
Pattern below is the confirmed 2026 cycle — the latest confirmed. APSCHE has not published a 2027 pattern.
AP EAPCET is a computer-based test of 3 hours with 160 multiple-choice questions and no negative marking — every question is worth attempting. The Engineering paper is Mathematics 80, Physics 40, Chemistry 40. The Agriculture and Pharmacy paper substitutes Biology for Mathematics: Biology 80, Physics 40, Chemistry 40. Each correct answer carries 1 mark. The paper is offered in English and Telugu; the Urdu-medium option is available only at the Kurnool test centre. The syllabus is the Andhra Pradesh Intermediate curriculum for Classes 11 and 12. After the exam, APSCHE publishes a preliminary answer key and accepts objections (in 2026 the key came on 23 May with objections closing on 25 May). Ranks use normalisation across the multiple sessions, and qualification generally requires 25% of the total marks for OC/BC candidates, with no minimum qualifying mark prescribed for SC/ST candidates.
Fees and how to apply
The application process is unusual in one respect: you pay the fee first, and the form unlocks after payment. Reported fee figures for 2026 conflict in secondary coverage — Rs 600 for OC, Rs 550 for BC and Rs 500 for SC/ST per stream (doubled if you apply for both streams) in some sources, Rs 800/Rs 750/Rs 700 in another notification summary (see the flag above). Read the fee table in the official notification itself before paying, and keep the payment reference ID safe; without it you cannot retrieve the form.
- Open cets.apsche.ap.gov.in and go to the AP EAPCET section.
- Read the eligibility criteria and notification, then pay the registration fee (online, or through an AP Online centre).
- Use "Know Your Payment Status" to confirm the payment has registered.
- Click "Fill Application", enter the payment reference ID, qualifying exam hall ticket number, mobile number and date of birth, and complete the form.
- Upload photograph and signature in the prescribed format, submit, and print the filled application form — it is required at counselling and admission.
Documents to keep ready
Intermediate/qualifying exam hall ticket number and marks memo, Class 10 certificate for date of birth, study certificates from Class 6 to Intermediate (for local-status determination), caste certificate and income certificate for reserved-category and fee-reimbursement claims, Aadhaar card, and the printed application form. After results, admission runs through web counselling: registration and fee payment, certificate verification, option entry (college and course choices), seat allotment and reporting to the allotted college.
Common mistakes
Paying the fee and losing the reference ID; choosing only the Engineering stream and discovering later that a backup Agriculture/Pharmacy option required a separate stream selection; ignoring local/non-local status until counselling (it is determined by your study certificates, not your address today); and treating the late-fee ladder as a plan — the Rs 10,000 stage exists, but candidates who use it also compress their correction and hall-ticket margins to almost nothing.
Sources & verification
Verified against the official APSCHE source on 6 September 2026. Expected or previous-cycle information is never presented as a confirmed 2027 announcement.
