How Round 2 was announced
The sequence of official notices is short and precise. The B.Arch process opened with Adv. No. BCECEB(UGEAC)-2026/05 dated 29 June 2026, which invited online applications from candidates with a valid score in JEE (Main)-2026 Paper-II (conducted by NTA) or NATA-2026 qualification. Round 1 applications ran from 1 to 15 July 2026, with the merit list/rank card published on 18 July 2026. After Round 1 admissions, seats remained vacant, and on 11 September 2026 BCECEB issued the Round-2 notices — Adv. No. BCECEB(UGEAC)-2026/09 and, in detail, Adv. No. BCECEB(UGEAC)-2026/10 — inviting fresh online applications and consent/willingness from JEE Main Paper-II and NATA-2026 qualified candidates for the vacant seats. The Round-2 registration and application submission window ran from 17 September 2026 to 21 September 2026 (up to 10:00 pm). On 23 September 2026, the Board published the Second Round Counselling Schedule under Adv. No. BCECEB(UGEAC)-2026/11, and by 26 September 2026 the Board had posted the vacant-seat position after the second round — the document that tells you, in black and white, whether any B.Arch seats survived Round 2 at all.
Who was eligible for the Round-2 window
Round 2 was not a general re-opening; it was a targeted window, and its conditions followed the UGEAC-2026 prospectus:
- A valid JEE (Main)-2026 Paper-II score or NATA-2026 qualification — there is no separate BCECEB entrance test for B.Arch.
- The Class 12 pattern prescribed for architecture admission: Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, with any one of Chemistry, Biology, a Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics or Business Studies, with at least 45% aggregate in the combination — or a 10+3 diploma with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and at least 45% marks.
- Bihar domicile/residence conditions as per the prospectus, with category-wise reservation under Bihar government norms claimed through proper certificates.
- Fresh candidates who had missed Round 1 could register in this window; candidates already in the process gave consent/willingness as the notice directed.
How the offline counselling works
UGEAC B.Arch counselling is an in-person exercise, and the Board's programme notice is blunt about its logic: inclusion of your UGEAC ID in the counselling programme does not guarantee admission — candidates in excess of available seats are called precisely so that vacancies from absentees can be filled. You appear on your scheduled date, your original certificates and identity are verified, and only then are you allowed to exercise your option from what is available at your merit serial at that moment. Miss your slot and you may still appear later during your category's counselling period — but you choose only from whatever is left when you actually report. Since there is one institution, "choice" here means essentially accepting the Gaya College of Engineering seat when your turn comes, or walking away.
The document list from the Board's counselling programme notice — carry originals of all of these:
- JEE (Main)-2026 Paper-II score card / NATA score card, as applicable
- Rank card of UGEAC-2026 (B.Arch)
- Matric (Class 10) passing certificate, marksheet and admit card
- Intermediate (Class 12) passing certificate, marksheet and admit card
- Residence certificate issued by the concerned C.O./R.O.
- Caste certificate, if claiming reservation, issued by the concerned C.O./R.O. of permanent residence
- Six copies of the same passport-size photograph uploaded in the online form
- A copy of Aadhaar card
- Print copy of the downloaded confirmation page of the UGEAC-2026 (B.Arch) online application form
- The verification slip (in two copies) and biometric form (one copy), as downloaded
Where things stand now, and what to do next
With the vacant-seat position after the second round published on 26 September 2026, Round 2 is a closed chapter: if seats remained, any further filling would come only through a fresh BCECEB notice on bceceboard.bihar.gov.in, and if none remained, the 2026 B.Arch admission at Gaya stands complete. Candidates who took a seat should complete the college-side admission formalities exactly as directed at counselling. Candidates who missed out should read the outcome realistically: the same single-college structure will repeat in UGEAC-2027, which will again key everything to JEE Main Paper-II and NATA scores. The two actions that decide your chances next year are taken months earlier — sit JEE Main Paper-II and/or NATA 2027 seriously, and keep your domicile, caste and Class 12 documents ready before the June–July application window, because in a one-college counselling, the student who loses a seat usually loses it to a missing certificate, not to merit.
