Who was eligible, and on what terms

Eligibility for UGMAC follows NEET plus Bihar's own conditions. You must have qualified NEET UG 2026 — the qualifying bar is the 50th percentile for UR and EWS candidates, the 45th percentile for UR candidates in the disabled quota, and the 40th percentile for SC, ST, BC and EBC candidates. You must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English, with at least 50% in PCB taken together for the general category and 40% for the reserved categories, and you must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026; there is no upper age limit for MBBS and BDS. For B.V.Sc. & A.H. the age band is narrower — 17 to 25 years on 31 December 2026, with five years' relaxation for reserved categories. For state-quota seats you must also satisfy one of BCECEB's domicile conditions and hold a residential certificate issued by a competent Bihar authority. Candidates without a Bihar domicile claim are not in the state-quota pool; their route to Bihar's colleges is effectively closed except through the all-India counselling for the seats that fall under it.

The counselling fee structure reported for 2026 was ₹1,200 for UR, EWS, BC and EBC candidates and ₹600 for SC, ST and DQ candidates for government-college counselling, and ₹1,200 across categories where private-college choices are included. A refundable security deposit applies at registration; the amount depends on the type of colleges you opt for and is stated in the UGMAC-2026 prospectus — take the figure from the prospectus PDF, not from any summary, including this one, because forfeiture rules bite precisely on the deposit. Candidates who resigned a Round 1 or Round 2 seat at the start of October did so under the board's notice knowing the deposit would be forfeited under the round rules; resignation after allotment is never free once the board has said so.

How the round actually worked, step by step

A candidate registered on the UGMAC portal with NEET details, paid the counselling fee and security deposit, downloaded the rank card when BCECEB released it, and then filled choices — college and course combinations in true order of preference — before locking. The allotment is a mechanical product of three things: your UGMAC rank (derived from your NEET All India Rank), Bihar's reservation rules, and the order of your choices. You cannot be allotted a college you did not list, and you will be allotted the highest preference your rank can reach, which is why listing a college you would refuse is a genuine error, not a formality. After allotment, the candidate downloaded the provisional allotment order and reported to the allotted college inside the verification window with the original documents.

Carry the full set for verification: NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard, the UGMAC rank card and allotment order, Class 10 certificate and marksheet, Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate, residential (domicile) certificate, caste certificate where claimed, EWS or DQ certificate where claimed, Aadhaar or other photo ID, character certificate, and passport-size photographs matching the application. Colleges verify originals and retain copies; a mismatch between the category claimed online and the certificate produced in person is the most common reason a verification ends without admission.

Two practical warnings close this out. First, the provisional allotment is not the admission — only completed document verification and fee payment at the college inside the window confirm the seat, and the Round 2 window shut on 29 September regardless of individual circumstances. Second, every date in this process moves by BCECEB notice and corrigendum, as the 2–3 October corrections to the Round 3 notices showed. If you are waiting on a stray-vacancy announcement, check the notice board on bceceboard.bihar.gov.in daily and keep your documents and demand-draft readiness in place; stray rounds in Bihar have historically run on very short clocks, and the candidate who is ready is the one who gets verified.

Sources & verification

Re-checked the official BCECEB notice board today: Round-2 UGMAC-2026 schedule is complete, and the board now lists Round-3 notices — online application and choice filling (Adv. No. /09 and /10, dated 30.09.2026) plus corrigenda (Adv. No. /11, dated 02.10.2026 and 03.10.2026). Round-3 deadlines were not quoted verbatim from the board listing, so check the linked notices for exact dates.
