Status in October 2026: this round is closed

On 12 September 2026, the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board published a revised mop-up round result for BCECE Engineering 2026, under advertisement number BCECEB(BCECE)-2026/15. The board's own notice board lists this as the current, operative result — it supersedes the earlier engineering mop-up allotment published on 11 September. Reporting and admission against the revised allotment closed on 14 September 2026. If you are reading this in October, there is no pending download or verification window for this round: what this page can still do for you is tell you exactly what the revised result changed, whether it affected you, and what proof of admission you should now be holding.

A "revised" result in a counselling context usually means corrections were made to the first allotment — seat matrix changes, category-wise reallocation, or data corrections — and the revised version is the only one that counts. BCECEB also published revised opening and closing ranks alongside the revised allotment, so even candidates whose allotment did not change can now see the corrected rank range for their category, institute and branch. If you downloaded a provisional allotment order from the first mop-up output, treat it as outdated. The revised order is the one your reporting centre honoured.

Two features of this table explain most of the confusion around this result. First, the revised result landed one day after the original allotment and inside the same download and verification windows — candidates who had already downloaded an order on 11 September had to check again on the 12th, because the 13–14 September verification ran on the revised allotment, not the original. Second, the whole endgame took 48 hours: a candidate allotted (or re-allotted) in the revision who did not report by 14 September lost the seat to cancellation of the provisional allotment, with no further engineering round behind it.

What BCECE Engineering is, briefly

The BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination) 2026, run by BCECEB, is the gateway to engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, and medical/para-medical courses in government and private colleges of Bihar. The engineering stream draws on the PCM and PCMB groups and feeds B.Tech admissions, including programmes like B.Tech Dairy Technology. The 2026 written examination was held on 30 and 31 May 2026; rank cards were issued on 24 June; counselling ran in rounds through July, August, and into September, with the mop-up round as the final mop-up of vacant seats.

Who the revision actually affected

The revised cutoff and allotment applied to candidates registered for BCECE 2026 engineering counselling under the PCM group (the allotment coverage reported for this round also included PCMB-group candidates and B.Tech Dairy Technology at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Women's Institute of Technology, Darbhanga). In practice, three groups of candidates were affected differently:

  • Borderline candidates near a closing rank. A small rank correction in a mop-up — where the remaining seats are few and the rank bands are tight — can move a candidate into a seat, or out of one. This group had the most at stake in the 12 September revision.
  • Candidates who had already verified on 13 September or were due on the 14th. Their allotment status had to be re-checked against the revised output; the revised order, not the 11 September one, was the document the institution acted on.
  • Candidates satisfied with an earlier round's allotment. They were not part of the mop-up at all; the revision did not disturb a confirmed earlier-round admission.

A provisional allotment was never admission by itself — it became admission only after the allotment order was downloaded, documents were verified, and the admission formalities and fees were completed at the allotted institution by 14 September. Failure to report by that date meant cancellation of the provisional allotment.

How the revised allotment was checked and downloaded

  • Go to the official portal: bceceboard.bihar.gov.in (the counselling system also runs through admissions.nic.in/Bihar).
  • Open the BCECE-2026 notice board or counselling section and find the revised mop-up round result link (Adv. No. BCECEB(BCECE)-2026/15, dated 12.09.2026).
  • Log in with your registration number (or roll/enrolment number) and password or date of birth, plus the captcha shown.
  • Download the revised provisional seat allotment order and the revised opening/closing rank PDF. Check the college name, branch, and your details carefully — name spelling, category, and rank must match your records.
  • Print at least two copies — one for the reporting centre, one for the college.

If the revised output showed a different allotment from the one downloaded on 11 September, the revised one was authoritative. If the portal showed no allotment, the candidate was not allotted a seat in this round — that is itself an answer, and it means this counselling cycle has ended for them.

Documents that were verified

The verification set for the revised mop-up was the standard BCECEB set, in originals plus photocopies:

  • Revised provisional allotment order (printout)
  • BCECE 2026 admit card and rank card
  • Class 10 marksheet/certificate (date of birth proof) and Class 12 marksheet
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/EWS/OBC), domicile certificate, and income certificate, as applicable — in the format the board prescribes
  • Passport-size photographs and a valid photo ID
  • Any disability or quota certificates relevant to the claim

Where things stand now, and what to keep

If you reported and completed admission by 14 September, your proof of admission is the revised allotment order plus the college's fee receipts and admission acknowledgement — keep all three together; they are what you will produce for scholarship, hostel and education-loan paperwork in your first semester. If you were allotted in the revision but did not report, the allotment stood cancelled when the window closed, and no October application reopens it. If you were never allotted, BCECE Engineering 2026 is over for you — the realistic next doors are the 2027 cycle or another state's counselling, and the rank card and documents from this cycle remain the base file for both. In all three cases, keep watching the BCECEB notice board rather than aggregator pages: any vacancy-based spot notice would appear there first, and none had been published for engineering after the revised mop-up at the time of this check.

Common mistakes

The costliest one in this round was acting on the old, unrevised allotment — reporting with the 11 September order, or skipping the 12 September re-check because the first result looked fine. Others: forgetting the category certificate in the prescribed format (a generic caste certificate can be rejected), assuming a downloaded allotment equals admission (it doesn't until verification and fee payment are done), and trusting counselling "agents" who promise seat changes for money. BCECEB allots seats only through its portal. Anything else is a scam.
