Who is eligible

  • Female students only — this is a women-in-STEM programme throughout.
  • Studying in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech, including fields such as aerospace, marine, electronics and computer science).
  • Enrolled in an AICTE-recognised institution in India. Preference is given to students from government institutions.
  • More than 60% marks in both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations.
  • Annual family income not exceeding ₹4,00,000 from all sources.

Additional preference is given to applicants who are persons with disabilities, children of single parents, orphans, and — notably — female students who were part of the earlier Unnati/Wings4Her cohorts and are continuing their engineering degree. Students selected under the 2024 edition and now in their 4th year have also been invited to reapply in the latest cycle.

What you get

  • A scholarship of ₹35,000 towards education expenses.
  • Mentorship — one-to-one and one-to-many mentorship sessions plus webinars and workshops conducted by professionals and industry experts at Rolls-Royce India. For a student early in an engineering career, the mentorship is often as valuable as the money.

How the money can be used, and applying again

The ₹35,000 is a scholarship, not a reimbursement against bills, so scholars can direct it where their need is greatest: tuition fees, books and study material, coaching or examination fees, travel to and from the institution, basic living expenses for students staying away from home, and skill-development resources. The programme is awarded afresh for the academic year of the edition — it is not an automatic multi-year commitment — but the scheme is not a one-chance door either: earlier Unnati and Wings4Her scholars who are still pursuing their engineering degree are expressly encouraged to apply again in later editions and are given preference, which means a student selected in her first year has a realistic path to support in her second or third year too, provided she re-applies and remains eligible. Keep your previous application details and scholar correspondence safe for this reason.

Selection process

Selection is merit-cum-means: academic performance and financial need are weighed together, with the preference categories above getting additional weightage. Shortlisted candidates go through a telephonic interview, followed by a face-to-face interview where required, and document verification before the final list. The final selection is made by Rolls-Royce India.

Dates for the current cycle

Here is the honest position: the 2025–26 edition of the programme closed its applications on 30 November 2025, and as of this check (20 October 2026) a 2026–27 edition had not been announced in the sources we checked. Past editions have opened around June–July, with shortlisting in September and disbursement in November, but that is the pattern of the programme, not a promise for this year. If you are eligible, the right move is to watch the Buddy4Study scholarship page for the programme and apply in the first week once it opens — the shortlisting pool is competitive and early, complete applications do better.

How to apply, step by step

  • Visit the scholarship's page on the Buddy4Study portal and register or log in.
  • Find the Rolls-Royce Wings4Her / Unnati scholarship listing and click to apply.
  • Fill in your personal, academic and family-income details accurately.
  • Upload the documents listed below.
  • Submit before the deadline and keep an eye on your registered email and phone for the telephonic interview call.

Documents you will need

The application partner's listing specifies these — note the two items students most often omit:

  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • Aadhaar card
  • Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets (self-attested copies)
  • Previous academic year's marksheet — required for 2nd and 3rd year applicants, and the document most often missing when the form is started
  • Admission proof for the current academic year (college ID card, admission fee receipt, bonafide certificate or admission letter)
  • Bank account details (cancelled cheque or passbook copy)
  • Family income proof — the listing accepts any one of three forms: income proof issued by the Gram Panchayat / Ward Councillor / Sarpanch; income proof issued by the SDM / DM / CO / Tehsildar; or a salary slip
  • Disability certificate, where applicable

Queries go to the programme's own contact on the partner listing: [email protected], phone 011-430-92248 (Ext-152).

Do not confuse the two Wings4Her listings

Search results mix two different awards under similar names. The main Rolls-Royce Wings4Her (Unnati) Scholarship pays ₹35,000 with mentorship, for 1st–3rd year students (with previous scholars now in their 4th year also invited in the last confirmed edition). A separate, smaller employee-funded variant circulates as the "Wings4Her Kind Circle" listing at ₹25,000. If a page quotes you ₹25,000 for this scholarship, you are almost certainly reading the Kind Circle listing — check which programme name, and which deadline, the page actually carries before you plan around the amount.

Common mistakes

Income proof is the most contested part of a merit-cum-means award — but note the listing does not demand one specific certificate: any one of the three accepted forms above works, so do not delay the whole application waiting for a Tehsildar certificate if a salary slip or Panchayat-issued proof is already in hand. Marks in both Class 10 and Class 12 must clear 60% — the partner's wording is "more than 60%", so exactly 60.0% is a risk, not a pass; missing either board ends the application. The institution must be AICTE-recognised. And the programme is announced once a year with a single deadline — students who discover it in December usually discover it closed.
