JEE Main 2027 Admit Card: Expected Release Process

No JEE Main 2027 admit card exists yet, as NTA has not published the 2027 bulletin or registration; in 2026, city slips came about two weeks before the exam and admit cards 3–4 days before, in date-wise batches.

JEE Main 2027 Admit Card: Not Released Yet — Here Is Exactly How the Release Works

The JEE Main 2027 admit card does not exist yet, and neither does the exam schedule it belongs to. As of 20 October 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not published the JEE Main 2027 information bulletin, opened 2027 registration, or announced session dates. Any website showing you a "JEE Main 2027 admit card download link" today is showing you a fake, a leftover 2026 page, or a guess dressed as news. What this page can usefully do is tell you precisely how the admit card release worked in the confirmed 2026 cycle — because NTA runs the same machinery every year — so that the week it actually happens in 2027, you know the sequence, the login, the checks and the traps.

The confirmed reference: how it ran for JEE Main 2026

NTA released the JEE Main 2026 information bulletin on 31 October 2025 and conducted Session 1 from 21 to 29 January 2026 and Session 2 from 2 to 8 April 2026. The document sequence before each session was the same, and it is the sequence to expect for 2027 until NTA says otherwise:

  1. Advance city intimation slip first. For 2026 Session 1 this came on 8 January 2026 — about two weeks before the exam. It tells you only your exam city, so you can plan travel. It is not the admit card, it has no centre address, and it cannot get you into a hall.
  2. Admit card 3–4 days before your exam date. The 2026 bulletin promised admit cards three to four days before the examination, and NTA in fact released them in batches by exam date: cards for the 21–24 January exams appeared on 17 January 2026, and cards for the 28–29 January exams followed on 24 January. If your friend's card is out and yours is not, the likeliest reason is that your exam date is later, not that something is wrong.

So for 2027, the honest expectation is: bulletin and registration first (last cycle's bulletin arrived at the end of October), city slip roughly two weeks before each session, admit card in the final three to four days, released date-wise. Treat any specific 2027 date you read anywhere — including an "expected" one presented without this framing — as unconfirmed.

Check these details the moment it downloads

Do not file the card away unread. Verify: your name and application number; your photograph and signature; the paper you are appearing for (Paper 1 for BTech, Paper 2A for BArch, Paper 2B for BPlanning); the exam date and shift (morning shift 9 a.m.–12 noon, afternoon shift 3–6 p.m. in the 2026 pattern); the reporting time and gate-closing time, which are earlier than the exam start and strictly enforced; your category and PwD status as recorded; and the full exam centre address — look the address up on a map the day before, because centres are often schools with similar names in the same city. If anything factual is wrong — name spelling, category, photograph, paper — contact NTA immediately through the helpline and email given in the information bulletin and public notice; admit-card errors discovered at the centre gate cannot be corrected there, and centres admit the candidate named on the card, with matching ID, or not at all.

What to carry on exam day

Based on the standing instructions in recent bulletins: your printed admit card with the undertaking completed as directed; one passport-size photograph, the same as the one uploaded in your application, for the attendance sheet; and an original, valid photo identity proof — Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID, ration card with photograph, Class 12 board admit card with photograph, or a bank passbook with photograph are the documents NTA has listed. PwD candidates claiming relaxation carry their PwD certificate. Follow the admit card's own printed instructions over any summary — including this one — on prohibited items, because that printed page is what centre staff enforce.

The mistakes that recur every session

Downloading from a lookalike site and entering your application number and password into it (the credentials are worth stealing; the genuine domain is jeemain.nta.nic.in). Mistaking the city intimation slip for the admit card and travelling without the card. Waiting for "the" release day and panicking when cards come out in date-wise batches. Noticing a category or name error at home and hoping the centre will overlook it. And arriving at reporting time instead of gate-closing awareness — candidates who reach the gate after it closes are not admitted, however good the reason.

When NTA publishes the 2027 bulletin, this page's reference numbers become a schedule. Until then: no bulletin, no registration, no admit card — and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.

Sources & verification

Checked 6 September 2026: NTA has not yet published the JEE Main 2027 information bulletin on its official JEE Main bulletin page. Any 2027 dates or rules shown as expected are planning estimates based on the recent official cycle, not announced NTA dates.

Frequently asked questions

Has the JEE Main 2027 admit card been released?

No. As of 20 October 2026, NTA has not published the JEE Main 2027 information bulletin, opened 2027 registration, or announced session dates, so no 2027 admit card exists yet.

When will the JEE Main admit card be released?

In the 2026 cycle the bulletin promised admit cards three to four days before the examination, released in batches by exam date — cards for the 21–24 January exams appeared on 17 January 2026. The same timing is expected for 2027 until NTA says otherwise.

What is the difference between the city intimation slip and the admit card?

The city intimation slip, released about two weeks before the exam (8 January 2026 for 2026 Session 1), tells you only your exam city so you can plan travel. The admit card carries the full centre address, exam date and shift, and reporting and gate-closing times, and is what gets you into the hall.

How do I download the JEE Main admit card?

Open jeemain.nta.nic.in, open the admit-card link under Candidate Activity for your session, and log in with your application number and password. Download the PDF and print a clear copy on A4; admit cards are never issued through coaching apps or other sites.

What should I carry on exam day?

Your printed admit card with the undertaking completed as directed, one passport-size photograph (the same as uploaded in your application) for the attendance sheet, and an original valid photo identity proof such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, voter ID, ration card with photograph, Class 12 board admit card with photograph, or bank passbook with photograph. PwD candidates claiming relaxation also carry their PwD certificate.
